In the near future, mankind has found convenience in life through technology. A device known as the link has united all bodies of government under one world order. Through the link, life has become considerably more efficient and easier. No more foreign currencies. No more wondering if people are who they say they are. No more worrying about unknown health conditions. And no more puzzled confusion over where you left your car keys. Yes, in the near future life is good. However, despite advancements in technology and renewable energies, majority of the world’s power still derives from fossil fuels. After years of extraction and constant usage, the once abundant supply is becoming extremely scarce. With limited alternatives, link servers could face imminent shutdown. If such an event were to occur, a world so dependent on technology to maintain structure could instantly be thrown into anarchy. To prevent such a catastrophe from happening, a witty, ambitious physics engineer is hired in attempts to create a new potential fuel source. This opportune protagonist finds himself having the chance of a lifetime. But before he gets too comfortable with the thoughts of chasing his dreams, he finds himself hurled into a waking nightmare. Vivid night terrors begin to take hold, as physical manifestations start to occur. And if that pressure isn’t enough, a mysterious name adds to his increasing paranoia. Regardless of his increased anxiety and sleep deprived state, it’s up to Scott Whitman to overcome the debilitating effects to save society. Is he capable of accomplishing such an overwhelming task? Can he figure out the answer before it’s too late? Or will Scott find himself in a state of Displacement?
