Imagine finding love at the end of a train journey. It happened back when steam trains belted across the newly opened Canadian wilderness. It still happens today. These are modern love stories of people who meet on the train, at a destination, or even on the train station platform. In A Lil’ Bit o’ Train Romance, train robbers steal more than money, and a station mistress finds herself taking an unplanned ride, while a model train man finds an admirer. Santa Claus becomes the Christmas miracle, the gunslinger isn’t who he makes out to be, and a runaway finds a friend who becomes much more. A couple bond over popcorn for a second chance at love, and children appear in several of the short stories. The Alberta Prairie Railway abounds with history that lends itself to the telling of these fictional stories by an author who still favors a ride on the vintage trains.
